Ted (Track Every Day) is a project management app for homeowners and builders. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
- Phone number (required — used as your unique identifier)
- Your name
- Password (stored as a secure hash — we never store your actual password)
Project data
- Payment records: amounts, dates, descriptions, categories, and payer information
- Receipt images you upload for scanning
- Journal entries and project notes
- Task and snag lists
- Documents you upload to projects
Device and usage data
- Push notification tokens (to send you alerts)
- In-app events (e.g. payments created, features used) — used to improve the product
Waitlist
If you joined our waitlist, we also hold your email address.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and run the Ted service
- To send push notifications about your projects (payments added, tasks updated, etc.)
- To process receipt images using Google Cloud Vision OCR
- To send SMS verification codes via AWS SNS
- To understand how the app is used and improve it
- To contact waitlist members about the launch
3. Data Sharing
With people you invite
When you add a collaborator or beneficiary to a project, that person can see the project data you've granted them access to. You control who has access and can revoke it at any time.
Third-party services
- AWS (Amazon Web Services) — infrastructure, SMS delivery via SNS, and email notifications via SES
- Google Cloud Vision — receipt image scanning (OCR). Images are processed and not stored by Google beyond the API call
- Expo — push notification delivery
- Google Analytics — anonymised website usage statistics
We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on our servers hosted on AWS EC2 in the EU (eu-west-2, London). We use HTTPS for all data in transit. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your personal data, projects, payments, and associated records are permanently deleted from our systems.
6. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
- Object — opt out of any processing based on legitimate interests
You can delete your account directly in the app (Settings → Delete Account), or contact us at [email protected].
7. Cookies
The Ted mobile app does not use cookies. This website uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies to track anonymised usage. You can opt out via your browser settings or a browser extension like uBlock Origin.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via the app. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version.
